“Everywhere, there are hundreds of colours spread in Gilgit-Baltistan before the onset of winter. This region is one of my favourite places on earth,” the Prime Minister wrote.
The premier recently visited Gilgit Baltistan and inaugurated Himalaya and Nanga Parbat National Parks in the GB region aimed to protect endangered wildlife and promote eco-tourism in the area.
The newly notified ‘Himalaya National Park’ and the ‘Nanga Parbat NP’ comprise unique ecological areas with very rich high altitude biodiversity as well as precious flora and fauna which include snow leopards, Himalayan brown bear, Ladakh Urial, Ibex, Markhors and Blue Sheep.
The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) formed its government in Gilgit Baltistan as it succeeded in getting simple majority in GB elections 2020.
