RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army Headquarters () has excused GHQ for providing personnel of security forces, including the Pakistan Army, Rangers, and FC jawans, for the elections.
According to the details, in the letter received by the Federal Ministry of Interior under the leadership of Rana Sanaullah, the GHQ said that officials cannot be appointed for the elections in the provincial assemblies including 64 constituencies of the National Assembly.
In the letter received by the Ministry of Interior, it was said that the appointment of personnel is not possible. Only for the by-election of the National Assembly in Rajanpur, the supply of Punjab Rangers personnel will be ensured in the second Hisar.

Earlier, the Election Commission requested the GHQ to deploy Rangers and Pakistan Army personnel in the national and provincial areas, which could not be approved. In view of the fears of terrorism, security personnel is engaged in border security.
This month, security forces personnel will be deployed for security during the digital census from February 27, while the census will continue till April 3. GHQ refused to provide security for the elections.
