Pakistani prominent anchor Gharida Farooqi found it costly to talk about the performance of the Federal Minister for Communications Murad Saeed in her program ‘G For Gharida’.
It all started when Gharida Farooqi and the guests invited to her program were talking about the award given to the ministries by the government of Pakistan in which Murad Saeed’s ministry was at the top of the list.
However, the discussion during the program drew backlash and since then, Gharida Farooqi is trending on social media. It should be noted that the aforesaid hashtag has the support of some prominent journalists including the ruling party and its ministers.
This kind of loose talk can never be classified as journalism https://t.co/gxiSQnpTUU

When the gutter becomes mainstream for a few moments of infamy and titillation. Most unfortunate. https://t.co/zSGt7oLbSl

How pathetic… is this #journalism? This is the trash being churned out by the media in #Pakistan. Shameless innuendos being used to reflect their own pathetic and dirty minds. Shame of the participants sitting there and contributing to such derogatory nonsense. @reportpemra https://t.co/gH4GRprjtN

If this is the kind of discourse projected on mainstream media, that too by ‘practicioners & experts’, it necessitates:
➖ Adoption of legal standpoint over such kind of subliminal messaging.
➖ Re-examination of our priorities when it comes to psy ops through media https://t.co/wGBmBUS8H9
