ISLAMABAD: The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has postponed several interviews scheduled at its Islamabad headquarters on April 9, following the federal government’s announcement of a local holiday as Pakistan hosts crucial ceasefire talks between the United States and Iran.
In a public notice, the commission said interviews for the posts of Charge Nurse at the Federal General Hospital and Assistant Professor at the Ministry of Education and Professional Training would not take place on the declared holiday. The FPSC added that the rescheduled dates would be announced later.
The commission clarified, however, that not all interviews were affected, confirming that interviews for Medical Officers under the Gilgit-Baltistan government would proceed as planned on April 9, conducted remotely via Zoom.
The postponement comes in the wake of a Cabinet Division notification declaring the holiday, which has already triggered closures across Islamabad. Over the past two days, authorities have announced the suspension of academic activities in schools and colleges, closure of NADRA offices, restrictions on heavy vehicle movement, and even the shutdown of several public hiking trails.

The FPSC’s decision underscores how the impact of the holiday is extending beyond routine office closures into recruitment and administrative activity, as the capital remains under heightened arrangements for the high-stakes diplomatic engagement.
