ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has returned to Pakistan after a one-day visit to Jeddah.
Qureshi reached Islamabad in the morning today from Jeddah where he went earlier to perform his Hajj.
The Minister is scheduled to attend the joint parliamentary session today.
Earlier on Tuesday, Qureshi said that India’s act of abolishing special status for held Kashmir is an impudent violation of international laws which can lead to lead to havoc in the region.
On Tuesday, he attended an emergency meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah which was summoned to discuss the situation in occupied Kashmir.
Qureshi said, “Abolishing Article 370 and 35-A by Indian parliament is a flagrant violation of international laws.”
He said that thousands of Kashmiris had been martyred by Indian forces in the occupied territory since 1989.
According to Qureshi, he had brought the attention of the United Nations Security Council and General Secretary OIC to the apprehensions of Pakistan regarding the measures and steps taken by India.
