Five workers die after inhaling poisonous gas in Panjgur

GWADAR: At least five workers died after inhaling poisonous gas in a well in the Khuda-i-Abadan area of Panjgur.
According to sources, two labourers went inside a well for cleaning it. Poisonous gas had accumulated in the well and the two labourers fell unconscious. Sources added that four other men immediately went inside the well to rescue them, however, they also fell unconscious.
Soon after the incident, a police party rushed to the scene and with the help of rescue workers took the six labourers out of the well. They were taken to a nearby in Panjgur where doctors pronounced five of them dead. One unconscious labourer was admitted in the hospital.
Earlier, two workers died of suffocation and three others fainted after inhaling poisonous gas inside a well in Bara tehsil of the Khyber tribal district.
The sources said Ahmad Khan, aged 35 and Abdul Rehman, 40 were cleaning the well in Milward area in Akakhel when they fell unconscious. As a result, both the men died on the spot.
