The title song of the third season of drama serial ‘Khuda Aur Mohabbat' has set a new record on digital and electronic media by crossing 100 million viewson YouTube.

So I started watching season 3 of the drama ‘Khuda Aur Mohabbat’ for two reasons and discontinued it for only one reason i.e ‘normalizing harassment’ in the name of love.

I heard a lot of good reviews about its season one but when Feroze Khan-Iqra Aziz starter ‘Khuda Aur Mohabbat’ became the most trending hashtag on its first episode; I decided to watch the drama but in every episode, the drama became more problematic; here’s how!

Feroze Khan, who essayed the role of Feedi a.k.a Farhad in the play, is a son born in a struggling family, who falls in love with a rich girl. Things get disturbing when in the early episode after much friendly batter; Maahi offers Farhad a glass of juice and request to become friends. Here is why:

1) Offering friendship does not mean ‘love’

Maahi smiling at Farhad in all episodes, offering her a glass of juice, and asking his help to drive (which she can as he is an employee), does not mean at all that she loves her, however, he thinks is and continues to believe it.

2) Onesided ‘love’

Farhad who instantly falls in love with Maahi decides to confront her and expresses how he feel which is right like everyone else he is allowed to do so. So he decides to follow her alone in the room and when he sees her in the room ALONE. He locks the door to confess how he feels, which angers Maahi and without wasting her time, she immediately leaves the room, leaving him all alone with his unheard confession.

3) Forcing feelings on someone

As one of the Bollywood song’s lyrics says ‘Honton per na hai per dil mein haan hai’ little did we know, such songs ruined us. Maahi clearly showing NO INTEREST in Farhad leave him devastated and he decides to travel to her hometown Multan so just he can hear her saying ‘she loves him too’.

4) Decides to stay until she accepts his onesided love

This time, Maahi clearly clarifying that she does not love him. He decides to stay because.. because he somehow still feels she loves him but she is afraid so he will stay until she clears her thoughts and confesses that she loves him back.

5) Cursing Maahi

Still Farhad, unlike other one-sided lovers who usually throw acid upon rejection; does something different, he curses Maahi for not loving her back and accepting that she loves him (which she does not). Interestingly in future promos and teasers, Maahi would be seen suffering and asking forgiveness from Farhad, on what basis; it is still unclear because I don’t think God would punish someone for offering them a glass of juice which is misunderstood by someone.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 is one of the trending Pakistani dramas these days which airs every week on Friday at 8 p.m.
