Jaffar Express came under fire in Bolan, Balochistan on Tuesday. As per the Railways officials, the driver of the train was critically injured in the firing incident.
The Train was targeted by unknown assailants at Panir Railway Station, located near Dhadar area.
As per media reports, the train was en route to Peshawar from Quetta when attacked near the Mach area. Till the last information, the firing was continuing in the surrounding area of the railway station.
As per a private TV channel, at least three people – including the train driver – were injured after unidentified assailants opened fire on the Jaffar Express.
Railway and law enforcement officials confirmed that security forces rushed to the site immediately after the attack. A search operation was launched in the surrounding area to trace the attackers.
No group has claimed responsibility for the incident so far. Authorities are investigating the attack, while rescue teams have been dispatched to provide medical aid to the injured.
