The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a weather advisory from June 13 to 18, warning of an expected rise in temperatures and possible rainfall in various regions of the country.
According to the advisory, most areas of Punjab are likely to experience intense heat from June 13 to 16. However, northern regions, including the Pothohar Plateau, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad, may witness rainfall during this period.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the weather is expected to remain hot, with temperatures likely to increase in several districts.
Nonetheless, thunderstorms and rain are forecast for some areas, including Chitral, Dir, Haripur, Karak, Kohat, Kohistan, Khyber, Kurram, Mansehra, Mohmand, Nowshera, Malakand, Charsadda, Abbottabad, Bannu, Hazara, Peshawar, Swabi, Swat, and Waziristan.
In Sindh and Balochistan, the weather is projected to remain extremely hot throughout the advisory period.
Similarly, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir are also expected to see a rise in temperatures. Rain is likely in specific areas, including Astore, Skardu, Hunza, Shigar, Bagh, and Neelum Valley.
The NDMA has directed all concerned authorities to take necessary precautionary measures to cope with any potential emergency.
