Federal minister alleges Sindh government over gas crisis

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Energy and Petroleum Omar Ayub Khan has alleged that the gas crisis in the Sindh province was created by the provincial government.
Gas crisis has intensified in various cities of Sindh, including Karachi, causing problems for the citizens. Gas supply to CNG stations and industries closed to reduce gas shortage, despite the gas crisis continues and domestic consumers face severe difficulties in cooking.
In this regard, Federal Minister for Energy, Omar Ayub Khan said that the gas crisis in Sindh was the cause of the Sindh government. He said because the Sindh government is not giving way to laying two gas lines. Omar Ayub said that Sindh government also refused the import of LNG under Article 158.
He said that the sudden increase in cold temperatures has reduced the gas pressure, Therefore, in view of the weather; the supply of imported gas was increased by 12 percent.
The minister claimed that when the PTI took over the national exchequer was almost worn-out and the economy was facing worst ever condense. He claimed that the PTI government has set the direction of the country’s institutions in the right way by heartening investment.
He further said that the federal government is ready to cooperate with the government of Sindh, adding that if the provincial government gives desired routes to Sui Southern company, PTI government would build gas pipelines and solve the gas crisis.
