ISLAMABAD: An important meeting of the Federal Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister has been convened today in which the economic situation will be reviewed.
According to details, the agenda of the meeting of the federal cabinet has been released, according which the approval of the amnesty scheme for expatriates to leave the country is included in the agenda.
In addition, the decisions of the Economic Co-ordination Committee will be approved in the meeting while legal proceedings will be consulted in the light of the decision of the Supreme Court.
During the meeting, members will be taken into confidence on the IMF agreement and other measures, including reduction in petroleum products.
It may be recalled that the meeting will start at 10.30 am today in which the political and economic situation of the country will be discussed.
On the other hand, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister on the flood situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan in which the federal government announced to provide Rs 1 million assistance to the families of the flood victims.
