MIANWALI: A stone-hearted man named Shahzaib brutally killed his seven-day-old daughter by shooting her multiple times in Mianwali area of Punjab.
The tragic incident happened in the Noorpura area of Mianwali, where a man named Shahzeb killed the infant by opening fire on her five times. The man wanted a son and eventually killed his daughter.
Police said that the man fled after committing the heinous crime. A first information report (FIR) of the incident was filed by the child’s maternal grandfather. The incident was also widely condemned on social after reports and pictures of the inocent victim went viral.
Inspector General (IG) Punjab has taken notice of the killing and has summoned a report from RPO Sargodha. He ordered to arrest the accused immediately and take strict legal action against him. He also instructed to keep close contact with the victim’s family.
The National Commission on Status of Women’s (NCSW) Chairperson Nilofar Bakhtiar said that the sole purpose of killing the child was because of her gender. She said law enforcement authorities will leave no stoned unturned to catch the culprit. She added that the protection of human rights, especially women’s rights, is very important in the country.
