DUBAI: Farhat Shahzadi alias Farah Khan and her husband Jameel Gujjar have decided to return to Pakistan on May 10 to challenge the authority of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of probing money-laundering charges against them.
According to the sources, Farah Khan, a close friend of ex-premier Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi, is returning to Pakistan to challenge NAB’s jurisdiction to probe anti-money laundering case against her.
Meanwhile, a NAB Lahore spokesperson said Farah Khan’s case comes under the anti-graft watchdog. He said the authority could initiate an inquiry against any public office holder or his or her family in corruption and financial malpractice cases.
According to the spokesperson, Farah Khan’s husband was the chairman of the Gujranwala District Council from 1997 to 1999.
He added that NAB will transparently investigate Farah Khan’s case under anti-money laundering Act. He said the probe against Farah Khan has been referred to NAB Lahore by NAB headquarters.
