A significant development has emerged in the investigation into the mysterious death of young Karachi businessman Mir Raza Ali.
Police have obtained important documents related to a khula (judicial divorce) case between the deceased’s parents, prompting investigators to expand the scope of the probe to include family matters.
According to investigators, a court had granted Mir Raza’s mother’s khula petition and issued a decision to end the marriage. Court records show that Mir Raza’s mother had stated that her husband was not providing financial support or covering essential household expenses, prompting her to seek an end to the marriage.
Police officials said that following the legal separation of his parents, Mir Raza and his sister lived with their mother. The investigation team is examining documents from the khula case, family disputes, and financial matters to determine whether any possible motives could be linked to Mir Raza’s death.
During the investigation, police also obtained an alleged audio recording of Mir Raza’s father, Mir Hussain, in which he is reportedly heard speaking with a man named Noor about repaying a loan.
In the alleged recording, Mir Hussain says that he no longer has his work or home in Karachi and has moved to Islamabad, where he has found a sales job with a good salary package. He is also heard assuring the other person that he will repay the outstanding loan amount soon.
According to police sources, family disputes, financial matters, the alleged conversation regarding the loan, and other available evidence are being incorporated into the overall investigation into Mir Raza’s death. Authorities say all possible angles are being examined to determine the facts surrounding the incident.
