Pakistan’s preparations for the upcoming ODI series against Australia have suffered a setback as opener Fakhar Zaman and young batter Saim Ayub will not be available for selection due to injuries.
The Pakistan vs Australia ODI series is set to begin on May 30, but both players are currently undergoing recovery and rehabilitation following their respective fitness issues. According to sources, the duo is being closely monitored by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) medical team.
Both cricketers are working through structured rehab programs under medical supervision, while the PCB has extended its best wishes for their swift recovery.
Officials said an updated announcement regarding the final squad and players’ fitness status will be issued soon. The absence of Fakhar and Saim is seen as a major blow to Pakistan’s top-order options ahead of the important series.
