Bangladesh cricket team secured a commanding 78-run victory over Pakistan national cricket team in the second Test at Sylhet, sealing a 2–0 series whitewash on home soil.
Chasing a challenging target of 437, Pakistan were bowled out for 358 on the final day, falling short despite a determined effort in the fourth innings.
The visitors resumed their innings with cautious intent, but lost wickets at regular intervals, preventing any sustained momentum in pursuit of the target.
Wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan played a resilient knock of 94 runs, anchoring Pakistan’s resistance for a period.
However, he fell just short of a well-deserved century, with Pakistan’s ninth wicket falling soon after at 358. Earlier, Sajid Khan contributed 28 runs, but lacked support from the lower order as the innings gradually unraveled.
Bangladesh’s bowling unit maintained disciplined lines and lengths throughout the final day, applying consistent pressure and denying Pakistan’s batters any room to settle. Their controlled and patient approach proved decisive in breaking partnerships at crucial moments.

The result capped off a dominant series performance from the hosts, who outplayed Pakistan in both batting and bowling departments across the two matches. Under the captaincy of Shan Masood, Pakistan once again struggled to convert individual performances into team success, extending their difficult run in Test cricket.
With this victory, Bangladesh registered a memorable home series clean sweep, further strengthening their growing reputation in the longest format of the game.
