Manchester United will play Real Betis in the Europa League last 16 after overcoming Barcelona, while Arsenal face Sporting Lisbon in the last 16 of the Europa League.
United beat the La Liga leaders 2-1 at Old Trafford on Thursday to seal a 4-3 aggregate win in the play-off tie.
Mikel Arteta’s Gunners side – who was beaten finalists in the 2018/19 edition of the competition and reached the semi-finals in 2020/21 – will travel to Lisbon next month to face Ruben Amorim’s side, who are fourth in the Primeira Liga at present, in the first leg.
The Europa League last-16 ties will take place on 9 and 16 March.
Sevilla, a six-time champion, will take on Fenerbahce in another match, while Jose Mourinho’s Roma will take on Real Sociedad, the group winners from Manchester United.
Clubs from the same association were not permitted to be drawn against one another, hence the eight clubs that won their respective Europa League group matches were paired against the eight clubs that advanced to the knockout phase play-off matches.
