QUETTA: The court has issued the arrest warrant for former provincial planning and development minister Dr. Hamid Khan Achakzai.
According to the details, the cases against Dr. Hamid Achakzai were heard by Judge Muhammad Jamshed in Accountability Court One Quetta. Apart from Dr. Hamid Achakzai, the court also issued arrest warrants for ex-admin QDA Dilshad Khan.
Bailable warrants of both the accused were issued for non-appearance in the court for the hearing of the cases. The court ordered the arrest of Dr. Hamid Achakzai and former admin QDA Dilshad Khan and to produce them in the court by October 16.
Dr. Hamid Achakzai is considered one of the central leaders of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party. The accountability court is hearing the case of abuse of power against the two accused including Dilshad Khan.
Former provincial minister Hamid Achakzai is the son of nationalist leader Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai, whose two brothers are also important political leaders. Muhammad Khan Achakzai is the former governor of Balochistan while Muhammad Khan Achakzai is the leader of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party.
Abdul Majeed Khan Achakzai is also a close relative of Dr. Hamid Achakzai and after being a member of the Balochistan Assembly from 2002 to 2007, he was also elected as a member of the assembly from PB-13 constituency in 2013.
