Controversial internet personality Andrew Tate has been detained in Romania over human trafficking and rape investigation.
Andrew Tate alongside his brother Tristan was detained which was confirmed by Tate’s lawyer. The brothers have been under investigation since April alongside two Romanian nationals. He also had his house raided in the capital, Bucharest. Tate moved to Romania five years ago.
Prosecutors during the investigation said, “The four suspects … appear to have created an organised crime group with the purpose of recruiting, housing and exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic content meant to be seen on specialised websites for a cost.”

Tate rose to fame in 2016 when he was removed from the British TV show Big Brother over a video that appeared to show him attacking a woman. However, he still remains a notorious public figure, making occasional appearances on social media.
The 35-year-old has been described as a ‘sexist’ and ‘misogynist’ by several people because of his controversial statements. Due to his controversial beliefs, he was banned from all social media platforms, including YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok, on 29 August. Earlier in October, there were reports that the controversial kickboxer-turned-misogynistic influencer allegedly converted to Islam.
