KARACHI: At least seven more people have died due to the coronavirus and the total number of deaths due to this epidemic has reached 6,444 in Pakistan.
According to the latest figures released by the National Command and Operations Center, 798 new cases of the coronavirus have been reported in the last 24 hours. The total number of the cases across the country has reached 309,015.
In Pakistan, 294,740 people infected with the coronavirus have recovered and the number of active cases has dropped to 7,831. The number of virus cases in Sindh has reached 134,246. 98,864 cases have been reported in Punjab, 37,525 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 14,838 in Balochistan, 16,324 in Islamabad, 2,610 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and 3,608 in Gilgit.

The coronavirus has claimed 2,229 deaths in Punjab and 2,477 in Sindh, while the death toll in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has risen to 1,258, Islamabad to 181, Balochistan to 145, Gilgit-Baltistan to 84 and Azad Kashmir to 70.
There are facilities for coronavirus patients in 735 hospitals in Pakistan and the number of ventilators for corona patients in hospitals is 1,920.
There are 132 testing laboratories operating in the country and trace, test, and quarantine strategies are working effectively in several cities.
