LAHORE: The registration process for ‘Bahimat Buzurg Program’ in Punjab will start from November 23 to provide pensions to old aged people.
The programme has been launched across the province under the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. Under the programme, Rs 6000 will be provided to 65 years or above old age people after every three months in case of social pension.
The Punjab government has initially allocated Rs2 billion for the programmme. Punjab chief minister said that they are moving towards the fulfillment of the dream of the state of Madinah.

Usman Buzdar said the programme is a step towards a welfare state according to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision. He said that the project would strengthen the elderly, especially women, economically.
Special Assistant to Chief Minister (SACM) on information Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the programme is an ideal step towards the state of Madinah.
In a message posted on Twitter, Awan said that a fund of Rs 2 billion has been set up by Usman Buzdar under the programme for people aged 65 and over and registration would start from 23rd November.
