Chaudhry Shujaat has challenged his removal from the post of Party’s head, while Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi’s counsel sought rejection of the petition of Chaudhry Shujaat arguing that “the intra-party election is an internal matter of the party, the election commission prevented us from the party election and we complied the order”.

In its verdict issued today, the ECP also declared schedule of intra-party elections, released by Central Working Committee of PML-Q, as illegal.
The ECP concluded that “the proceedings carried out by the so called Central Working Committee of PML, which have been impugned before us qua removal of the petitioner from the post of President and issuing election schedule for the said post, have no legal sanctity in the eyes of law having been carried out beyond the constitution of the PML-Q, therefore being set-aside the same.”
