ISLAMABAD: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) on Wednesday cleared a total of seven development projects with an estimated cost of Rs. 36 billion.
The development projects are categorized into smaller and bigger development schemes. The projects with a combined estimated value of Rs.25 billion have been submitted to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council for their authorization.
Whereas, the remaining five smaller projects with an estimated cost of Rs. 11 billion have been accepted and authorised by the Central Development Working Party (CDWP).
As per under the recently amended fiscal regulations, the CDWP has been authorised to approve projects costing under Rs. 10 billion.
However, the projects worth more than Rs. 10 billion can only be authorized and approved by Ecnec, as soon as CDWP, technically evaluates the proposals and clear them.
The CDWP meeting was chaired by Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Dr. Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan. The meeting was attended by senior representatives from the federal and provincial governments.
