Can common man gets justice in ‘Naya Pakistan’, asks Umme Rubab
ISLAMABAD: Advocate Umme Rubab Chandio, daughter of deceased Mukhtiar Chandio, has lashed out at federal and Sindh government for not providing justice to people, asking ‘can a common man gets justice in Naya Pakistan’.
Umme Rubab’s father Mukhtiar Chandio, grandfather Karamullah Chandio and paternal uncle Kabil Chandio were gunned down on January 17, 2018. She has blamed PPP leader Sardar Khan Chandio, Burhan Chandio and seven others for the heinous murders.
She is now raising voice for a poor mother, whose son Mushtaq Ahmed, according to victim’s family, was allegedly killed by the Sindh police in 2015. The victim’s mother informed that her husband was also abducted and has not returned since then.
Talking to M.M News, Umme Rubab said, “What happened to that family is the story of every household in Sindh and due to the corrupt political personalities and police officials, people are deprived of justice and are killed unjustly.”
She further said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has also turned a blind eye towards the injustice in Sindh. “IG Sindh himself said in a statement that such killings are politically motivated,” she claimed.
Referring to Mushtaq Ahmed’s alleged murder, she claimed that the killing was also carried out on the basis of political influence. “Mushtaq Ahmed’s only fault was that he saw Sindh police killing a citizen,” she asserted.
“A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered on the orders of the Sindh High Court, but still after five years, the accused are still at large and victim’s mother Yasmeen Sheikh is deprived of justice,” she added.
