Brad Pitt pays tribute to civil rights icon John Lewis

NEW YORK: Brad Pitt will join a special TV tribute titled, John Lewis: Celebrating a Hero as civil rights hero John Lewis is getting honoured by showbiz stars today.
showbiz stars including Brad Pitt, Oprah Winfrey, Jennifer Hudson, Tyler Perry, Billy Porter, and Gayle King and other stars will join the event that will be aired today.
Winfrey, in a statement, said, “John Lewis was an extraordinary man. A man of great vision who lived a life with the purpose of making sure America lived out its ideals.”

Perry also joined the conversation, saying: “This is a celebration of the ‘boy from Troy.’ A forefather of the civil rights movement, who would live to see his contributions for equality result in witnessing the swearing-in of the first Black United States president.”
The news comes days after the death of Lewis after he lost his fight with pancreatic cancer on 17th July. He was an American politician and civil-rights leader who served in the United States House of Representatives for Georgia’s 5th congressional district from 1987 until his death in 2020.
