A tragic incident occurred early Friday morning in Jacob Lines, Karachi, when the compressor of a refrigerator exploded, resulting in the death of a 13-year-old boy and serious injuries to another man. The explosion was caused by an electricity short-circuit.
The victim, identified as Muhammad, had been staying at his grandmother’s house to attend a wedding ceremony. The powerful blast instantly killed the young boy, while the explosion also caused a massive fire that quickly spread throughout the house.
In the aftermath, one man sustained serious injuries, and a woman inside the house at the time of the explosion also suffered injuries. The intense fire made it difficult for anyone to immediately escape the premises. Firefighters and rescue teams arrived promptly at the scene, while a police team secured the area.
Upon receiving reports of the blast, local authorities rushed to the house, and the injured were quickly transported to Civil Hospital for treatment. Authorities confirmed that Muhammad, the young boy, was pronounced dead at the hospital, while the man and woman are currently receiving medical care for their injuries.
Police have initiated an investigation into the cause of the explosion and are interviewing witnesses and family members. The house, which was severely damaged by the fire, is still being assessed for further safety concerns.
