The head of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan, while addressing the public for the first time after the assassination attack on him on Thursday, said that he will call for long march towards Islamabad again when he recovers. He directed his supporters to continue protest until three people resign.
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan, the country’s most popular political leader this time, luckily escaped Thursday’s assassination attempt. The alleged attacker has confessed in his first statement after arrest that his target was Imran Khan and he had come with a plan to remove PTI chief from the way. But God thank ,the assailant missed his target and Imran Khan survived the dangerous attack. If the armed man had succeeded in his plan, it would have been a very tragic event for the country, and the nation would have to bear its loss for a long time.
When the former prime minister came out for his first public address after the attack, the fears in the hearts of many people ended about the serious condition of Imran Khan as God thank, he is out of dangerous. During the address, the former prime minister’s morale and spirit were high and the facts about his health came out before everyone, which is certainly a matter of satisfaction for his fans and workers.
In his address, Imran Khan once again blamed the same three persons for the attack whose names he had mentioned during treatment in the hospital a day earlier. Imran Khan said that until these three persons resign, people should continue protesting. As far as the long march is concerned, since the container leading the long march has been seized by the police for investigation, while Imran Khan himself is under treatment, it will be difficult for PTI to keep the march continue.
What will happen to the ongoing anti-governmental movement of PTI
In case of the march is postponed? Is seems that until the complete recovery of Imran Khan, his party, without him, will not be able to run an effective movement against the incumbent government. Regardless of who the attacker is and who planned the attack, it seems that the government will get some sigh of relief till Imran Khan returns to full ‘form’ again.
But now, there is a need for the government to take advantage of this ‘relief’ and try its best for dissolving the prevailing tense political situation in the country and pave a way for political reconciliation on national level which is the biggest need of the country and the nation this time. For this, both sides need to rise above their egos and take a step back from their positions, otherwise there is a fear that someone else could take advantage of the situation after that the politicians would have nothing except sorrows and regrets.
