The much-anticipated romantic musical “Chand Mera Dil”, starring Ananya Panday and Lakshya and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, has officially locked its theatrical release for 22 May 2026.
Originally slated for 2025 and later pushed to April 2026, the film now aims to anchor the summer romantic calendar, with trade sources confirming the new date as final.
The recently released teaser and title track have already ignited chatter across South Asia. Composed by Sachin–Jigar with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and sung by Faheem Abdullah, the peppy love anthem “Chand Mera Dil” is being positioned as the film’s central romantic centerpiece.
In Pakistan, where Bollywood’s cultural footprint remains strong, the film is trending for its star power, Dharma branding, and infectious music. While some viewers praise its visual flair and romantic tone, others have drawn comparisons to Kabir Singh, describing it as melodramatic, sparking lively debates across YouTube reaction channels and social media platforms.
Entertainment analysts tracking regional buzz note that Dharma Productions’ big-ticket romances automatically draw significant attention in Pakistan, particularly when the music resonates with audiences.
The film’s cross-border resonance underscores Bollywood’s enduring influence in South Asia, where music, star power, and production house branding often transcend borders, even without explicit cultural or narrative ties to the region. As the May release approaches, “Chand Mera Dil” is poised to become a defining summer romance for both Indian and Pakistani audiences alike.
