Blast in Lahore’s Johar Town claims three lives

LAHORE: An explosion has been reported in the area of Johar Town area that has claimed two lives and injured 17 people.

LAHORE: An explosion has been reported in the area of Johar Town area that has claimed two lives and injured 17 people.

LAHORE: At least three people have been killed and 24 others injured in an explosion at a house in the Johar Town area of Lahore.  

According to the sources, the blast occurred in a house of Johar Town today and the powerful blast shattered the windows of surrounding buildings, injuring 24 people.

The blast also damaged nearby vehicles. As soon as the blast was reported, the police and security forces reached and cordoned off the area and started an investigation to ascertain the nature and cause of the blast.

Rescue officials said that those injured in the blast are being transported to Jinnah Hospital. Police maintained that the blast was severe and damaged residential buildings.

SP President Division Hafeez-ur-Rehman Bugti said that the nature of the blast is still unknown. Police, rescue, and other teams are at the scene, and rescue operations are underway, the bomb disposal squad will determine the nature of the blast, he added.

Taking note of the incident, the Federal Home Minister directed the concerned authorities to investigate the incident. Sheikh Rashid demanded a detailed report of the blast from the police officials. According to Jinnah Hospital, a policeman was also injured in the blast. 

SM Jinnah Hospital Dr. Yahya said that the policeman injured in the blast needed blood which has been arranged. The injured woman and child were shifted to the ventilator.

Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid Jinnah rushed to the hospital and inspected the injured in the blast. Prof. Dr. Arif Tajmal briefed the Health Minister about the facilities provided to the injured.

Talking on the occasion, Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that terrorists could not demoralize the Pakistani nation.

It may be recalled that earlier, a cylinder exploded in the Liaqatabad area of ​​Karachi, as a result of which the roof of a residential building was collapsed, killing two people including one child, and injuring six others.
