The New York City Ballet’s 2025 Fall Fashion Gala featured eye-catching, high-drama looks, with attendees prioritizing bold silhouettes and theatrical details over classic glamour.
The evening highlighted collaborations between choreographers and visionary designers like Iris van Herpen and the late Virgil Abloh.
Here are some best dresses at the event for your eyes.
Sarah Jessica Parker
As a co-chair of the event, Parker wore a black-and-white avant-garde look by Iris van Herpen. The off-white mini dress featured black detailing and a long train, but the most striking element was a set of giant black, floor-length wings.

To complete the daring ensemble, Parker wore her hair in a sleek bun and accessorized with black peep-toe pumps. Her outfit was a nod to Dutch designer Iris van Herpen, who created costumes for a new world premiere ballet at the gala.

Melanie Hamrick
The choreographer, who attended with her fiancé Mick Jagger, wore a sophisticated red satin gown. The dress featured a high neckline, a dramatically plunging back, and a high leg slit.

She complemented the crimson number with black strappy heels and a messy bun. As a ballet choreographer, Hamrick’s elegant yet confident look was a gala highlight.
Julia Fox in Iris van Herpen
The actress arrived in a dramatic couture gown by Iris van Herpen that was described as looking “like a sketch come to life.”

The avant-garde piece featured flowing, sculptural curves that highlighted her figure. Fox added to the striking effect with accessories, including lime green heels and vibrant purple-dyed tips on her brunette hair.
Nicole Ari Parker
The actress wore a ravishing red gown with a ruffled, tiered tulle bodice and a flowing skirt.
She was seen playfully twirling on the red carpet to showcase her beautiful dress.

Beyond the red carpet, the gala also showcased the artistic collaboration between fashion and ballet.
The Dutch designer, Iris van Herpen, created costumes for a world premiere by choreographer Jamar Roberts.
The late Off-White founder Virgil Abloh’s crafts were featured in costumes for the ballet Composer’s Holiday.
Gianni Versace, the iconic designer’s works were seen on stage in the ballet Herman Schmerman pas de deux
