A 28-year-old woman from Belgium was allegedly subjected to days of sexual assault in a harrowing incident in Islamabad.
The victim, a Belgian national, reported to the authorities that she was held and raped over a period of five days by unidentified assailants. She was later found abandoned with her hands tied in Sector G-6.
After the case was registered, the woman was taken to Polyclinic Hospital for a physical examination, as investigations continue.
Police have arrested a suspect, Tameezuddin, a resident of Sector G-6, based on the victim’s statement.
Tameezuddin has claimed that the woman is mentally ill, but police noted that she was found without any identification or travel documents.
