PESHAWAR: Seven people were killed and three injured in two roadside bomb blasts in Bannu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, police said.
According to DPO Yasir Afridi, the first explosion occurred in the Marka Bera area when an improvised device planted on the roadside struck a passenger van. Five people traveling in the van from Hathi Khel village to Bannu died in the blast.
A second explosion took place shortly after while rescue work was underway. Two people involved in relief efforts were killed. One vehicle was also damaged in the second blast.
The bodies and injured have been shifted to hospital. Police have started an investigation and cordoned off the area. Security forces are searching for evidence related to the incident.
