POTCHEFSTROOM: Bangladesh has won the Under-19 cricket world cup for the first time by defeating India by 3 wickets.
India set a target of 178 runs. Bangladesh slumped to 106 runs for 6 wickets. Then Akbar Ali played captain innings and scored crucial 43 runs for 77 balls. The opener Pervaz Hossain scored 47 runs and was the highest scorer for the Bangladesh side.
The Bangladesh Captain Akbar Ali was named man of the match for his brilliant performance. Ravi Bishnoi took 4 wickets but couldn’t help India to seek victory.
Earlier, India was bowled out for 177 runs. Y Jaiswal was the highest scorer for his side as he scored 88 runs in 121 balls. Avishek Das took 3 wickets for 40 runs. Shoriful Islam and Tanzim Hasan took a 2-wicket apiece.
