The Government of Balochistan has announced a fixed price of Rs280 per litre for Iranian petrol, warning that strict legal action will be taken against those charging above the prescribed rate.
According to details, the decision was taken to curb profiteering and stabilise market prices across the province.
The move was approved during a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.
Officials stated that Iranian petrol will now be sold at the officially notified rate of Rs280 per litre to provide relief to the public.
Munir Ahmed Durrani said that strict action would be taken against violators charging higher prices. He also clarified that the sale of Iranian petrol will be restricted within provincial limits and cannot be transported outside Balochistan.
He added that special monitoring teams have been formed to oversee prices in markets and ensure compliance with the fixed rate.
