ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Army top commanders have reaffirmed complete solidarity with Kashmiri brethren in their struggle for the right to self-determination.
This resolve was expressed at the Corps Commanders’ Conference, which held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi today (Thursday) with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa in the chair.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the forum reviewed the overall security situation and held a detailed discussion on the situation along the Line of Control (LoC), particularly after Pakistan and India last month agreed to observe a ceasefire along the de facto border.
The military’s media wing said the forum expressed confidence in the operational preparedness of the army displayed during recently held formation exercises.
“The forum held a detailed discussion on the situation along the eastern border/LoC especially the environment post ceasefire understanding 2021 between the DGMOs [Director Generals of Military Operations,” it added.
The forum reiterated the importance of energizing early induction of civil administration and other Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) along with the speedy implementation of development plans within these districts for their ultimate transition to civil administration in an earlier timeframe.
It also expressed satisfaction over positive developments in Afghan Peace Process and efforts made thus far. The participants were apprised about military engagements with friendly countries.
The Corps Commanders also reviewed the internal security situation including an ongoing third wave of COVID-19 and reaffirmed the resolve of the Armed Forces to extend full support to civil administration in controlling the pandemic.
