ISLAMABAD: Amid all the news about Pakistan facing default threats and rupee declining to all time low against US dollar, the ruling coalition partner Awami National Party (ANP) has hinted at parting ways with the government as its senior leader and Senator blasted his own federal government for a number of failures.
Talking to a private TV channel, Senator Umer Farooq of ANP said in his opinion, this was not the time to support the government and in coming days, a meeting would be convened to take some important decisions regarding future political course of action.
Senator Umer Farooq said Sharifs were playing ‘home politics’ as the niece (Maryam Nawaz) said the present government was not her government, but her uncle was the Prime Minister of the country. He further alleged that by blaming PDM for every failure, Maryam Nawaz was actually paving her way to become Prime Minister of the country.
The senior ANP leader asked Maryam Nawaz to tell the nation as to who was the real PM, and who had portfolios of major ministries.
He said “we are not happy with the way government business is being carried out, and I will not support any government bill in the Senate.”
