KARACHI: Significant developments have emerged in the case involving drug dealer Anmol, also known as Pinky, as senior police officials have taken key decisions regarding the investigation into her clients and suspected network.
The first meeting of a high-level police committee was held under the chairmanship of Additional IG Karachi, Azad Khan. During the session, DIG South Asad Raza gave a detailed briefing on the progress of the investigation. Senior officials, including DIG CTD Ghulam Azfar Mahesar, SSP Irfan Baloch, Amir Farooqui, Shiraz Nazir, and SSP SIU Samiullah Soomro, also attended the meeting.
The committee decided that formal letters would be sent to the FIA, ANF, and other relevant institutions to involve them in the investigation process. Authorities also directed a comprehensive review of the alleged cartel’s bank accounts linked to the accused.
Officials further emphasised the use of technical and digital resources to trace financial transactions, dealers, and the wider narcotics network.
In a major decision, individuals who allegedly purchased and consumed narcotics from Anmol alias Pinky will also be included in the investigation.
Those who voluntarily come forward to record statements will be treated as witnesses in the case.
