Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has revealed that after her divorce she felt completely broken inside, but her children helped her regain strength and confidence.
In an interview with the American magazine Variety, Jolie spoke candidly about the difficult phase of her life following her separation from former husband Brad Pitt and the emotional struggles she went through.
Recalling that painful period, the Hollywood star said the incident left her deeply shaken for some time, but she is now rediscovering the inner strength she had lost.
Jolie said the divorce had a profound impact on her, and for a while she even felt disconnected from the identity she was known for. However, she added that she is now entering a new phase of life.
The actress credited her six children for her recovery, saying they played the biggest role in helping her regain lost courage. Her children are now growing up, with most nearing adulthood.
Expressing happiness, Jolie said, “My children are now almost all around 18, so they want to see me traveling the world. They encourage me to move forward and learn new things.” She added that their love helped her stand back on her feet.
Jolie made these remarks in connection with her upcoming film, in which she plays a mother raising her children alone after a divorce while also managing work life.
The film’s director, Alice Winocour, said the story was inspired by Jolie’s real-life experiences, as many elements closely mirror her personal journey.
