Akshay Kumar and Rakul Preet Singh starrer ‘Cuttputlli’ which was recently released is Bollywood’s new drama thriller.
Directed by Ranjit Tewari, the movie is a remake of a 2018 Tamil-language movie called Ratsasan. Many say ‘Cuttputlli’ is a stereotypical Bollywood film with oddly placed humor, a hip dance sequence, and a masculine hero figure who single-handedly solves the case.
Plot
The main plot of the movie revolves around a brand new police inspector Arjan Sethi, played by Akshay Kumar who also happens to be an expert on serial killers, as he, well, hunts down a serial killer who targeted teenage schoolgirls and left decapitated doll heads as their signature.
Word ‘Cuttputlli’
In Hindi, Cuttputlli means puppet, and it’s a reference to the killer’s signature habit of leaving dolls behind after each kidnapping.

Mixed review
As per the review posted on the Indian media web portal, the movie had multiple flaws in the narrative, especially the fact that he alone had to tackle the serial killer at every point, which was a bit too much.
