MUZAFFARABAD: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has lodged an urgent complaint with the Chief Election Commissioner of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), alleging fake voting and obstruction of its polling agent in constituency LA‑27 Muzaffarabad‑1 (Kotla).

According to the complaint filed by Abdul Shakoor, in‑charge of PPP’s Election Cell, the party’s polling agent at Polling Station No. 156, Government Boys School Siri Kurlan, was surrounded and prevented from performing his legal duties, while ballot papers were being illegally stamped at both male and female booths.
The PPP stated that the agent was unable to monitor the polling process, and once independent oversight ended, systematic fake voting began.
The party warned that the entire polling station has been compromised, making the process neither transparent nor credible.
The complaint emphasized that this practice constitutes a serious violation of the AJK Election Act 2020 and the Election Commission’s Code of Conduct, undermining the principles of free and fair elections.
PPP demanded immediate intervention, calling on the District Returning Officer, Returning Officer LA‑27, and District Police to release the besieged agent, restore his legal role, and halt the alleged illegal activities.
Copies of the complaint have also been sent to the concerned Returning Officer and District Returning Officer.
It is pertinent to mention here that the latest allegation adds to the mounting controversies surrounding the AJK elections, already marred by clashes in Nakyal, riots in Samahni, and violence in Rawlakot, incidents that mainstream media has largely remained silent on.
