Madrassah, Modern education and deception IV

Riyatullah Farooqui by Riyatullah Farooqui

Reading Time: 2 mins read

First, let’s have a look into how the administration acquired land for Jamia Tur-Rasheed. Mufti Abdul Rahim in his first introductory booklet gives the following information: “When the services in the religious institution started to grow exponentially, some sincere well-wishers, after collective efforts, obtained permission from Hazrat-e-Wala to acquire another land to build a new building.”

When the Commissioner came to know about this, he offered ten acres of welfare land for the extensive construction of Jamia Tur-Rasheed. However, Hazrat-e-Wala apologized and said: “I am not ready to accept any kind of favor from the government under any circumstances. There are a number of conditions that must be met by the government for welfare. I am only bound by the commands of my Almighty Allah.”

By acquiring welfare land from government, people usually take illegal measures to avoid restrictions. Then the Mufti Sahib listed three sins in this regard: Violation of government law; putting one’s religion in grave danger by establishing contacts with immoral and corrupt officials; taking illegal measures.

This whole phrase, which seems to be a high standard of ‘asceticism and piety’, is a combination of many contradictions. On the one hand, it is being said that in case of accepting a welfare land, one has to abide by the conditions of the government. On the other hand, he said we cannot violate government’s laws. When you consider breaking the law a sin, then why are you refusing to accept the same legal terms?

Take a look at this saying, “If something is found within the law of Allah, it is a blessing, otherwise it is a punishment.” Now under which law of Allah those gentlemen have got the “accidental board”? Allah’s law forbids breaking the collective order while these gentlemen have built a separate institution in the form of this board.

Another saying of Hazrat-e-Wala is: “The most important thing in my heart was to appoint a trustee who would be able to maintain the standard of training and practice in Jamia Tur-Rasheed after my death. After continuous prayers and tireless searching for 22 years, I found Mufti Abdul Rahim Sahib as well versed in every way. After that, I was satisfied that, Rahim would be able to maintain the standard of training and practice in Dar al-Ifta ‘wa al-Rasheed. So I made him the guardian.”

If you look at this exaggerated opinion written twenty-five years ago, and today’s Jamia-ur-Rasheed, the same Mufti Abdul Rahim has done nothing for the institution. Hazrat Wala’s 22 years of prayers were of no use. Hazrat Wala’s situation was that in the 90’s he traveled in a Chevrolet worth Rs 8 million. His institution is not a government-approved university, but has written approved on the website.
