ISLAMABAD: A local vendor in Islamabad has accused several police officials of beating and looting him at a police station.
According to details, the incident took place at Ramna police station on Saturday night. The victim, identified as Shah Jahan, informed that the police officials summoned him at Ramna police station without any reason.
The vendor claimed that police personnel including Haider Ali, the post-in-charge, and Constable Umer, along with four unidentified person abused and thrashed him for almost two hours.
“The police personnel continued harassing me by firing near my feet,” Shah Jahan said, adding that the accused officers also took off his watch and forcibly looted Rs 50,000. He claimed that they filmed the entire scene and tore his clothes, adding he can easily identify the policemen.
The victim has urged the higher authorities and Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Islamabad to take notice of the incident and arrest the culprits as soon as possible.
