KARACHI: The Station House Officer (SHO) of Sukhan police station in district Malir has been suspended and arrested for allegedly supporting land mafia.
A resident lodged a complaint against the policemen and alleged that he was supporting and patronising criminals involved in the occupation of plots and public lands in the area.
The complainant said his property was occupied by Imam Bakhsh Domki in Bhains Colony area after which he approached the court and received a stay order. However, the land mafia continued the illegal construction at his property.
The victim lodged a case at the Sukhan police station but the SHO did not take any action to vacate the land from the occupiers. Upon receiving directives from higher officials, the policeman has been taken into custody and a case has been filed against him.
