AUKLAND: New Zealand has once again become a coronavirus free country for the second time.
The announcement was shared by New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern. As per details, all restrictions across the country would be eased from Monday after a second COVID-19 wave was restrained.
The coronavirus was eliminated from New Zealand in May after a strict national lockdown led the country to enjoy more than a hundred days without community transmission.

However, in August, another wave emerged in Auckland, forcing authorities to impose a lockdown in New Zealand for almost three weeks.
With no new confirmed cases in the city for straight twelve days, the virus was under control and congratulated people for enduring the second lockdown.
“It felt long and dragged on in what was already starting to feel like a very long year. But despite this, Aucklanders and New Zealanders stuck to the plan that has worked twice now and beat the virus again, said PM Jacinda Ardern. The country has reported 25 coronavirus deaths, with 40 active cases in the country on Monday.
