ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information, Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that the health of the citizens was the foremost priority of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
In a series of tweets, Firdous Ashiq Awan expressed the confidence to conquer this challenge with collective national efforts. All available resources were being utilized to contain the spread of coronavirus, she said.
Awan further said that the development of the health sector was a genuine national service. She said that statistics were proving that this sector was not the priority of previous regimes and they only installed plaques of their names.
She earlier said that the government’s package, including food, protective gear would be provided in all provinces across Pakistan. She reiterated that this was not the time for politics.
Awan said that some people were trying to save their sinking boards by doing politics on coronavirus outbreak. She also announced that medical staff in Punjab would be given one month’s extra salary and if a medical staff member dies while treating coronavirus patients, their families will receive the same package.
