Pakistan closes Wagah Border amid coronavirus outbreak

Pakistan has closed the Wagah Border with India today (Thursday) to curb the outbreak of novel coronavirus in the country, interior ministry said.

In this regard, the Interior Ministry also issued a notification that stated that the Wagah border with India will be closed for 2 weeks.

The notification further stated that the decision for the border closure was in interest of both Pakistan and India.

The decision came after the number of coronavirus cases hits 329 in Pakistan. Currently, the national tally has reached 331.

Sindh has remained the worst affected province of Pakistan from coronavirus as the provincial tally has hit 213.

Pakistan has reported two deaths from the deadly disease on Wednesday and both were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

KP’s Health Minister Taimur Khan Jhagra said that the first death was reported in Mardan – a 50-yead-old man wh0 had recently traveled from Umrah.

In another Tweet he said that the second patient who died was a resident of Hangu.
