KARACHI: Pakistani citizens seeking employment opportunities abroad can use the official online portal of the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE) to explore overseas job listings and verify advertised vacancies before applying.

The bureau shares information about overseas employment opportunities through its official website and Facebook page. These platforms enable job seekers to review vacancies offered through licensed recruitment agencies and check the relevant recruitment details before proceeding with an application.

How Are Overseas Job Vacancies Approved?
Under the applicable rules, the Protector of Emigrants grants licensed recruitment agencies permission to recruit workers for a specified period. Before approval is granted, however, the foreign employer’s job demand and relevant documents undergo verification.

The verification process involves three channels: the Pakistani embassy in the country where the employment is offered, the host country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the foreign embassy located in Pakistan.

What Is a Permission Tracking Number (PTN)?
Once recruitment permission has been approved, a unique Permission Tracking Number (PTN) is issued for the relevant recruitment permission. Licensed recruitment agencies are required to include this number in their job advertisements, enabling applicants to check the details of the advertised vacancies.

Job seekers can use the relevant PTN on the BEOE website to verify whether a vacancy is listed under the corresponding recruitment permission. This process helps applicants check the official listing before pursuing an overseas employment opportunity.

What Happens When All Vacancies Are Filled?
When a recruitment agency fills all the positions advertised under a particular listing, the job listing is automatically removed from the website. Licensed recruitment agencies are also responsible for complying with the applicable rules concerning the workers they recruit.

If an applicant or an overseas Pakistani worker encounters a problem related to recruitment or employment, a complaint can be lodged with the BEOE or the relevant Protector of Emigrants.

Where Can Pakistanis Find Overseas Job Listings?
Pakistani students, graduates and other job seekers can consult the official BEOE portal to explore overseas vacancies and verify the relevant recruitment information.

The official overseas jobs portal is available at:

https://www.beoe.gov.pk/foreign-jobs

Applicants are advised to verify the recruitment agency’s licence, the relevant recruitment permission and the Permission Tracking Number before applying for a job, submitting documents or making any payment. Taking these precautions can help reduce the risk of falling victim to fraudulent advertisements or unauthorised recruitment practices.
