NEW YORK: Gold prices declined sharply in global markets on Thursday, falling to their lowest level since October 14. Silver, platinum and palladium also recorded losses, reflecting a broader downturn across the precious metals market.
Spot gold fell 1.1% to $4,094.90 per ounce on Thursday, marking its lowest level since October 14.
Meanwhile, US gold futures for December delivery also moved lower, dropping 0.9% to $4,111.40 per ounce as of 0333 GMT.
Silver, Platinum and Palladium Prices Also Decline
Other precious metals also came under pressure in global markets, with silver recording a steeper decline than gold.
Spot silver fell 2.6% to $56.44 per ounce. Platinum prices dropped 2.1% to $1,594.25 per ounce, while palladium declined 2.6% to $1,059.05 per ounce.
The latest figures indicate a broad-based decline across major precious metals, with gold, silver, platinum and palladium all posting losses during the session.
It is important to note that these figures represent international prices in US dollars per troy ounce. They should not be confused with Pakistan’s domestic gold prices, which are quoted per tola and may vary depending on local market conditions and other pricing factors.
