TOKYO: Pakistan secured another medal at the ongoing Asian Games in Japan as experienced shooter G.M. Bashir delivered an impressive performance to win a bronze medal for the country.
According to media reports, G.M. Bashir competed in the 25m Rapid Fire Pistol event. He was placed eighth after the first day of the qualification round but produced a strong comeback on the second day to improve his position and qualify for the final medal round in sixth place.
In the medal round, the Pakistani shooter remained composed under pressure and put in a strong performance. He finished with a total of 22 points to secure third place and claim the bronze medal.
With G.M. Bashir’s achievement, Pakistan’s overall medal tally at the Asian Games has increased to six.
G.M. Bashir has previously represented Pakistan at three Olympic Games. He also won a bronze medal for Pakistan at the 2022 World Championships, further highlighting his experience at the international level.
His latest performance once again proved valuable for Pakistan as he added another medal to the country’s Asian Games campaign.
