ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security forces have launched what the government describes as a decisive campaign against terrorism, carrying out precision airstrikes inside Afghanistan that reportedly killed 22 terrorists and destroyed key militant camps.
According to a detailed statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Pakistan has formally launched a new military operation, Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, as part of its resolve to eliminate hostile elements, their international networks and their facilitators.
*1st October, 2026;*
In continuation of operation Ghazab lil Haq and Pakistan’s resolve to eliminate terrorists, their networks and supporters, well planned and calibrated aerial strikes against the hideouts and safe havens of terrorists organisations of Fitna al Khwarij and Fitna al Hindustan have been conducted killing multiple terrorists.
Based on credible intelligence, selective targeting of Terrorist camps and hideouts at two locations belonging to Fitna al khwarij, Fitna al Hindustan and their affiliates has been carried out in Afghanistan with precision and accuracy. Targets were destroyed with precision and initial reports suggest killing of twenty two terrorists. Large quantities of weapons and ammunition stored at these hideouts was also destroyed.
Pakistan has always strived for the maintenance of peace and stability in the region. However, the safety and security of our citizens remains our foremost priority. It is a matter of grave concern that Afghanistan continues to remain a hub of terrorism. The threat to Pakistan emanates from Afghanistan. In this context, our action precisely targeted the terrorist hubs. Maximum precautions were taken and it was ensured that no collateral damage occurs.
Our relentless Counter Terrorism campaign Ghazab lil Haq under vision “Azm e Istehkam” by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.

The statement said that during the latest operation, hideouts of groups referred to by Pakistan as Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan inside Afghanistan were targeted. The calibrated airstrikes were conducted at two separate locations, where terrorist training camps and large stockpiles of weapons and ammunition were destroyed, according to the ministry.
Officials said initial reports indicated that 22 terrorists were killed in the security operation.
The Pakistani government has repeatedly informed the international community that Afghan territory continues to be used for terrorist activities against Pakistan and has maintained that a significant portion of the country’s security challenges originates from across the border.
The Ministry of Information said the air operation was conducted with the utmost precision and caution, with the strikes focused exclusively on militant hideouts in an effort to prevent civilian casualties and damage to civilian property.
The Government of Pakistan has reiterated its determination to continue Operation Ghazab lil-Haq with full force and resolve until, according to its stated position, the threat posed by elements seeking to undermine Pakistan’s security has been eliminated.
